Donald Harmon enlisted in 1938 initially serving with the military police, and transferred to US Army Air Corp in 1942. He was Killed in Action on a mission to Wernigeerode when his aircraft was hit by flak, exploded in mid-air, and crashed near Munster while conducting combat operations against Nazi Germany during World War II.
